The Kinetix Group Launches Multi-Disciplinary Behavioral Health Network

Addressing the Burden of Unmet Behavioral Health Needs

NEW YORK, December 21, 2021 – The Kinetix Group, serving as the operational partner, has launched the Behavioral Health Network (BHN), a multi‐stakeholder‐led initiative focused on addressing and improving the management of unmet behavioral health needs. BHN is comprised of acknowledged experts from across the country and various specialties who collectively believe that collaboration with multi‐disciplinary stakeholders will result in access to improved outcomes and serve as a powerful venue for advancing and scaling innovative behavioral health models of care, including substance use and central nervous system (CNS) disorders.

The BHN kicked off in November 2021 and established the following priorities applicable to any behavioral health or CNS disorder:

  •   Ensure access to providers and therapies to accelerate identification and improve health
  •   Advance an integrated health approach to care when managing co‐occurring diseases
  •   Recognize and better understand the impact of health inequities and the social or behavioral determinants that may impact access, affordability, and outcomes
  •   Imbed education and awareness around behavioral health conditions and co‐occurring diseases across care teams while empowering patients and communities

“It is imperative that integrated care be implemented with a trauma‐informed lens. This will require system‐level changes that shift our medical culture from being problem‐based to strength‐based. Implementing trauma‐informed care changes the frame of patient care from “what is wrong with you?” to “what has happened to you?” said Nancy Byatt, MD, member of the BHN.

While not all inclusive, the BHN prioritized populations facing the greatest needs within their respective communities, whereas opportunity for collaboration related to these behavioral health and CNS disorders would align with their strategies specific to dementia, depression & major depressive disorder, movement disorders, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders (SUD).

The BHN is open to strategic collaborations that support their overall priorities, which may include:

  •   Developing care pathways and consensus when evidence‐based guidelines are absent
  •   Generating real‐world evidence to accelerate awareness
  •   Providing patient and provider educational programs where models that enhance access can beadopted, reducing burnout, and improving outcomes for the populations they serve
